how does the 780 and the indash (tv) sound processors compare ?

im now trying to learn about pure sq now and where to start but HU's

i know the 880 has better sq but its to plain for my car ... yep shes pick //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

on the side but, will there be that much more of a difference in sq between the 880 and 780

im gettin pretty decent stuff (not like you crazy people yet)

orion 4002

mb quart premium 6.5

If you dont know how to use them none of the extra features on the 880 will really matter. I just ordered a 780, because i wouldn't ever really use 16 band EQ for each side (L/R).. 16 total is enough for most people.. myself included.. im not sure about pioneer, but i know i never figured out half the features of the high end eclipse decks Ive had..

Unless your quite skilled with EQ'ing your system..and plan on spending hours tweaking it...i doubt you would notice a difference between the two.. except the 780 has a better screen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I would think that if you are going after "pure sq", you should get the deck that offers the most ability to fine tune the sound.

To get that high level of sq, youll have to learn how to use all the functions like Faulkton mentioned.

i installed my 780 earlier today, and so far im very impressed. has very good SQ, and the EQ is a very aswell. 16bands is fine for me, i didnt need L/R adjustments and the eq is fairly straight foward to adjust aswell.

p.s. the screens very nice too:naughty:

if your not going active then the 780 should be fine. I dont care about screens but i am active. i do like the 880 screen. I dont need color, have had them and didnt care because I was driving watching where I was going, lol.

lol yea you cant really watch it when your driving but my car is really for crusing/ show.

and the L/R eq is the only big difference? as in you can set the eq of each speaker? i really want them balanced so my passanger can hear the same quality i am.

and what does active mean ?

The 880 will let you adjust both the driver and passenger sides to it sounds the best, giving you the balance you want.

Active is the opposite of passive- in a normal comp set, youll have your mids, tweets, and the crossover.

In an active setup, youll use crossovers from the deck and/or amp to set your crossover points.

Going active just gives you more control over the ability to fine tune your sound to how you want it.

im seriously looking at getting a 780mp too. i like the deck i have right now but its got too many problems going on...

16 band EQ is just what im looking for, i dont think i could handle 16 per channel, and i

the indash navi's only have 3 band eq's (on some) would the p780 have better sq then the indash navi's? along with more tuning capabilities ?
