Pioneer Mosfet 50wx4 aux help

I have a Pioneer Mosfet 50wx4 stereo in my car and I noticed that there is an aux input in the back of the stereo. I plugged my ipod in and went to AUX mode on the stereo, but even at the very top volume on the stereo and the top volume on my ipod, I can barely hear the music. Is there a setting that I need to change in order for the sound to work from the Ipod? Any help would be much appreciated.

what is your model number? Most likely you will have to adjust the AUX sensitivity settings on the head unit. I know that I have to do this with mine.

From what people said on other forums when i googled your model number and aux ipod, you apparently can not just hook up to aux without an adapter.
