Pioneer HU in a Mercury Mariner

Apparently I don't have an amp-turn on wire in my '05 Mercury Mariner.

Pretty simple question: what can I use to remedy that?

Can I just splice the turn on into the red (switched) power wire, as in the one that tells the HU when to turn on and off?

no as thats inition wire so if the rado is off as long as oyur keys up or engine ison oyur amp will be on

it work yeah and it wil turn off with your car so if thats ok sure if you need sometihng better you need to wire up a relay

That should work. If my car is on...so is my radio!

Thanks.

So I wired it all up...but caught a snag:

When I power off my car, the deck stays on playing. It should shut off when I open the door. Should I pull the amp turn-on from the switched power wire? I'm not even running it out to an amp right now.
