Pioneer HP-015B-1 ribbon tweeters

does anybody have any information on these?

i got them for $15 and want to use them but i have no idea of power ratings or what kind of crossover to use.

i called pioneer tech support and the only thing they could tell me is that they are from 1976..... freaking tweeters are older than me, by 10 years.

anything would be much appreciated.

definately not bad condition for being 30 years old.

i will either use them in my car....

or a pair of speakers in my room.

Not knowing anything about them I would use some generic rules of thumb

as a starting point. Perhaps;

if;

24dB/octave crossover then try 2.5khz - 3.5khz

12dB/octave crossover then try 3.5khz - 4.5khz

Place an inline fuse with the tweeter, AGC 1A fast blow.

well if they go in my car then i will be using my coustic xm5e which i believe is 18db and i would like to try 2.5khz but might end up with 3khz.

if they go in some bookshelfs then i will worry about that when the time comes.

i am getting some dayton rs28a's for my car so these probably wont be a permenant installation.

but we shall see.
