pioneer gm-x962 or kenwood kac-728s

Ok currently i have a pioneer premier 10" sub that handles 400 watts rms. which amp should i buy the pioneer(380rms) or the kenwood (300rms).

I had the kenwood but i sold it to a guy cause i figured he paid enough for me to get the newer model but now i saw the pioneers for cheaper. around $130 shipped i need some advice!! Has anyone heard any good things about pioneer amps or own one?

given the two choices mentioned... i would go with the pioneer. it has a closer RMS watt rating than the kenwood. but, you could do a lot better with an even more powerful amp for your sub. some thing in the 400-500w RMS range from a reliable manufacturer. jl audio - jbl - rockford fosgate - mtx just to give you some examples.

Thanks but can i buy a bigger amp or will i blow my sub, its only supposed to handle 400 rms and 800 max, what about the kenwood 929 would that be too much power. also what kind of box do u recommend? thanks

you will want to give your sub at least its RMS watts... with no harm if you go over the rms by as much as 50-100watts rms. if you want spl then go with a ported box. if you want sq then go with a sealed box. i recomend a sealed box, you can acheive the best of both worlds (spl & sq).
