IM a straight newb at the car audio game thats why im on here searcing and looking around.

So im want to put double din navi in my car and Ive been looking at the pioneer F700BT Im not really caring about the DVD's and what not Ill just put it on a SD card if i want to watch any..

But my question is which will be better I know the D3 is older but the front of it is more sleek IMO the F700BT has that big *** volume knob which is sort of ugly to me..

Any feedback will help

-Thanks

The 700BT plays video files off SD card? I wasn't aware it had any video playback..Sweet if it does. Personally my 2 cents is I like the look of the D3 better but I don't have personal experience with the unit. I've always liked the 6000DVD ( but no nav )....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

dont know about the d3 but with the f700, the videos kinda ****. i can do music videos off sd and thumb drives but when i put a movie on, i cant really do anything elce. cant fastforward, bring up the menu, stop the movie. it freezes up on me. the movie will keep playing though. i hear its a lot better with the 3.0 update though.

volume knob isnt very big at all. its rather small actualy...

I've had the Avic-D3, Avic-F700BT, Avic-Z2, and a Avic-F90BT(which i currently have) The D3 is great, it doesn't have the software issues that the Avic-F series have. When i upgraded to the F700BT i was very disappointed at the start up time, lag, and glitches in the the system. I then switch to the Avic-Z2 which is also great, but i found that i never use the hard drive and i missed the sd and usb connections from the F-Series. I ended up getting a Avic-Ff90 which i'm pretty happy with. They've released the new 3.0 firmware, which is stable. But the down side of it is that you have to pay for the update. My best advice is find someone with both units and try it out yourself.

Another note, the Avic-F series have built in bluetooth, sd card slot, and usb connection. You don't get any of these with the D3 or Z series. The F-series is also a lot easier to upgrade, since all you have to do is transfer the files to a sd card.

I'm saving up for the new Z-series, when it comes down in price i think i'd pick one of those up. Hopefully this helps.

yea thanks I need my Usb connection so looks like Ill be sticking with the F series..

My buddy had one before it was stolen and his start up time was excellent he said as long as he had it on radio or Cd b4 he turned off the car it would start back up fine.
