Pioneer DVD Display problem?

I've got a P6500DVD and when the display screen comes all the way up it goes black. Just started happening a couple of days ago. when the screen is in the down position I can see everthing.

Anyone know what's going on with this? I've searched multiple sites but haven't found any real documentation on how to fix or diagnose the problem. HELP!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Nope, no luck on the reset. It acts like the data cable coming from the main unit to the display gets pinched when it begins to fold upwards

Well, it seems as though it is the cable. I took the display apart and plugged the unit back in and started "messing" with stuff and everytime I put pressure on the data cable going into the main unit the display come back properly.

So, the next step is to get brave enough to take the whole thing apart and find the loose connection! Wish me luck! Thanks jmanpc for your responses If I can keep from shelling out a couple hundred bucks to fix a loose cable, I'm all about it!

Just FYI, I discovered my problem and the replacement part for it!!

The flexible PCB data cable has a fault point. When the screen comes up and folds over, the cable is bent to an almost even fold, like a piece of paper. It looks like over time the cable will start to break at that fault point and dead screen, etc.
