i just installed my deck in to my 4runner from my jeep. but now on the screen there's no lighting so i cant see anything unless its dark outside. did i mess up with one of the wires??? also it was sitting in my basement for about a month and a half with no use at all. and my friend droped it when trying to lift my sub box with it on top of it. its been under a year since i bought it with a warranty but i think its void now that i installed it in a new car?? any help

PS also looking for just a new faceplate to see if thats the problem.

you may have hooked up the dimmer wire.....unplug it....i believe it's orange, not 100% on that

and idk if the warranty is voided or not by installing it into another car but what they don't know wont hurt them

so it should be hooked up to the illumination wire right?

unhook the orange wire(s) cause your not sure if its a positive source or a negative source. if that doesn't work then go into your setting and adjust the contrast on the unit. if it still doesn't work properly take it back if you got a receipt.
