Just came in the mail today in a tiny brown package. First thoughts on this head-unit where... Looks pretty good, weird pre-out hook up, hope this has some pretty good graphics:eyebrow: . After extensive saudering and taping and augmentations to the dash and grounds (used double ground so I don't blow the internal micro-fuse), I got this baby turned on, set the gain on my amp by eye (was for 2v now for 5v). When I turned it on, the graphics on it where pretty stunning compared to my last (Jensen something) Head-unit, and kinda gazed at them for a bit. Fits in pretty well with my dash. Now on to the features, first glance at the EQ, I about shit myself thinking "How the f*** am I going to even start" (this is coming from having only 2 options, High and Low to 16+). Well I messed with the EQ and was pretty thrilled, than moved onto the "Entertainment" section and picked the movie screen saver, which I think looks pretty darn good for black and white. Sound quality on this thing is pretty stunning as well (it better be since I had a 100 dollar radio and now its a 300 dollar radio). Makes my subs blend in pretty darn well with the music, just need to do about 4 hours of reading and 10+ hours on tweeking and I'll have this baby set. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

* soldering.

If you bought that headunit for the graphics, and think the preouts are strange,

You bought the wrong headunit, my friend.

Well, it's the right headunit, but your reasoning is f*ct //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And you won't need to spent ten hours - connect the microphone, read the manual, use the auto-eq.

i'd wager it'll be better than you'll manage on your own, i'm basing that on your post(s)

Several things, as you guys have seen, I really **** at grammar. The weird pre-outs I was talking about where because they were two separate harnesses and I've never seen that. And I didn't purchase this Headunit because its looks. Third, why don't you think I can set up a Head-unit because of my posts? I think I've had enough experience in music to set the EQ....

First of all congratulations on your new head unit. I have been looking at that one myself. It seems to be a real beauty. Try not to take the above posts to hard. Some people on here are just like that. Most are very helpful. Don't feel bad, It took me quite some time to figure out my Excelon when I got it last year. It has nothing to do with being dumb. There is just alot of reading and tweeking to do. Can be quite a task until you get familiar with the unit. Hope you enjoy you new head unit. I'm sure you will. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I got it for 310 from Sonicelextronics.com it came with a free wiring harness and dash kit. Once it stops icing here I'll take some pics and post em. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

i got mine with the cd-ib100II hookup for $250 shipped. it was used, but in damm good condition. the auto-eq works wonders for ya. even with stock rears and crappy 6.5's (will get my front-stage done very very soon).

the harnesses make for easy removal of radio if you need to re-do the wiring or something. especially helps when running the rcas behind your dash and you just plug into the harness then when you're ready, just pop the harness in and mount the radio. i think it was a great idea.

and the fact you can turn off the internal amp as well. great for active set-ups

good luck.
