Pioneer DEH P680MP Aux Input

Ok i have a Pioneer DEHP680MP, with a front AUX jack (2.5mm) in the face plate.

No matter what i read in the manual or online, i cant figure out how to turn the AUX1 on and get it to work for my Ipod. Its driving me insane, nothing comes up in any of the menus mentioning it, it doesnt automatically recognize it or anything. Im stuck, does anyone know how to get it working?

i think the Headunit has to be turned off/stand by mode.

If i do that it just starts playing that demo routine thing explaining what it can do. I just wanna know how to activate the AUX, its driving me up the f*^%ing wall

you have to go into the off menu...the headunit has to be off and that demo routine will play...then you press and hold in the knob until the menu pops up....
