Pioneer CD Player Problems

Ive had a pioneer deh8400mp sittin in my garage for the past couple of years. Its been there since bc it stopped coming on and the faceplate would act like its opening then close without coming on. Ive read on some forums where you could fix this problem...could anyone point me in the right direction, im sick of the **** stocker cd in my ranger!!!

if I am not mistaken that is the deck where they had shitloads of problems with the ribbon cable for the face....

yea im just trying to figure out what it was bc i read you can replace it on your own, just wanna make sure bc i really liked this cd player and would rather have it than anything out right now

I am on my cell phone right now but this is the double faced cd player right if so your best bet is to replace the cable regardless and that will more than likely solve the problem the cable is cheap as hell any way....

is it a problem to do this job myself? whats involved some soldering? if so, i can handle it, just dont wanna screw it up more than it is

Fux pioneer decks ****. I don't know why people buy them. Between this and the pico fuse defect they refuse to fix people should really buy something else.

That is the cable I believe being it is the front panel that was causing the issues bending the cable and i like pioneer head units but the pico problem is annoying when trying to amp everything..And this model deck was loaded with issues reason why they made them one year..

well i loved this radio and would really like to fix it if i can being im a college student and buying a new one is kind of an undesirable purchase right now but i will do if i cant fix the 8400...man ive been out the system game so long, so much has changed...lol....im tryin to get back into it but dont even know where to start again

well gonna wanna start with a nice deck then nice front stage and amp for that then worry about the subs and am but that pioneers you gonna have to ground the rca's to solve their famous problem of engine whine..

ive looked, and maybe not good enough, but could someone point me in the right direction to where on this website where mono, 2-channel and multichannel amps are explained....i really cant remember shit from my old system days!!!!! THIS SUCKS!!! LOL and again sorry
