Pioneer AVIC-N2 Bypass

can't... only thing i've thought of but haven't had a chance... ground parking brake... well put it on a switch because it will say improper connection of parking brake... and do NOT use the navi disc for the AVIC-N2... use the yellow one from the AVIC-N1... maybe that will work.... we connected an N2... to an N1 brain and grounded the parking brake and it worked fine... until he inserted the green N2 nav disc...

you can also use the rear view camera input... but i think it will reverse the image and it will always say CAUTION IMAGE MAY APPEAR REVERSED on the bottom... but as far as a true failproof way to bypass it... not that i know of... sorry

1. toggle switch +12 to the purple/wht reverse signal wire2. video output into rear cam input with rca

3. toggle switch ground to ebrake wire (lt. grn) (on/ off/ on)

uh, okay. yeah.... that actually sounds like it'd work so long as you don't have the backup cam

Something to consider here as well....Why on earth would someone post information on how to circumvent the safety procedures on such a device like the Pioneer Avic N2? If the end user takes the given advice and gets in a accident and ends up charged with vehicular manslughter or some other offence... guess who else gets charged right along with him....

Great advice to give out guys.....keep up the good work.....

I've searched and people have found success by:

1.) Connect the Parking Brake lead from the hide-away unit directly to ground.

2.) Connect the Reverse-Signal lead from the hide-away unit to a switch near your seat that your can activate while driving. Connect the other side of the switch to 12V power.

3.) Loop the video output from the top of the hide-away unit into the rear-view camera input on the bottom of the hide-away unit.

4.) In the AVIC-N2 initial setup screen, turn on the rear-view camera feature.

there will be a text message at the bottom of the screen that's meant for actual rear-view cam use, something to the effect of "CAUTION: IMAGE MAY APPEAR REVERSED
