Pioneer avh-p4100dvd VERY LOW USB SPEED

Hi, I'm new in this forum and I want to be part of it.

I'm a Pioneer's user for about 15 years, replacing my unit every 1 or 2 years. Last year I bought the AVH 4000dvd and except for the poor graphics I liked very much, so this year I bought the AVH 4100DVD, great graphics, much better sound quality and other better stuff, EXCEPT FOR THE USB LOW SPEED READING. The avh 4000 takes about 5 secs. to load 16gb of mp3, and the 4100 takes 25 secs. (same disk, same 16GB). Apparently the problem is that the 4000 can read about 500 folders and the 4100 now can read 6000 folders (who has 6000 folders in the car ?, and if it has it would take all day to load it !!!!). I've read other forums and there are many people complaining with this.

I'm dissapointed with this, and I would like to join all the 4100 users to preassure Pioneer to make a firmware upgrade.

Ok, thats my story, and hope to hear your ideas.

PD: sorry for my English, it's not my native language.

It might be a bad unit because my 80gb Ipod was picked up right away. I could be wrong and I'm also guessing you are not using an Ipod? I do know the speed is very fast with the Ipod.

Hi, don't thiuk I don't read reviews, I spend a lot of time investigating! but non of the reviews mention that. A friend has the JVC AVX44 (top of the line) and it takes the same t

me to load. The 4100 is rated 'USB full speed' in Pioneers manual. Thanks for your contributive reply.
