pioneer amp

What you running @ 8 ohms, couldnt you run it at 2(unless is an svc 8 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ). You can running a higher impedance, you'll just get less power. Hooking your amp up to a load lower than recommend, that's when ya gotta be careful.

Gain //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

that's wat i was gonna do at first but my friend told me even if the gain is down the headunit may still be able to max out the amp even if the gains are down. Could this be true?

With the proper HU settings and the gain properly set, you have nothing to worry about.

If you set your gains to reach their maximum level right before the head unit begins to clip, you won't have to worry about this. For example, my Alpine is set to maximum at volume 30/35, and I don't go above 30.
