Pioneer 9800BT vs. 800/880PRS vs. Alpine cDA-9887 vs iDA-100?

It's a tough decision...I'm tempted to go Alpine because of a better iPod interface and looks, but also to go pioneer because of SQ and bluetooth already installed. Anybody know if you can play an ipod through bluetooth somehow? Can anybody shed some light on the four to help me decide?

oh yeah just to left u know what im working with 03 silverado crew cab:

Memphis m-class coaxial speakers: 6" in front 4"in back

2 -10" mclass 104D subs, 200/400 under back seat

power reference amp 1000w

stinger wire

I had a comparable Alpine unit with iPod... an 880PRS and I have a 980BT now.

I love the 980 just slightly more than the 880 but both of em were a lot better then the Alpine.. pioneer is a winner in my book and the 980vs880 is basicly whether or not you want something classy or flashy.

plus the bluetooth is the shit man i love it.

the ipod interface on the alpine and the pioneer in my eyes weren that far apart.. same shit different curb

the 880, at least on paper kills, the 9887 in tuning features. if your main concern is SQ and tuning capabilities then get the 880.

i don't know much on the 9800bt, but i don't think it has quite the same tuning features as the 880. not sure if it can go active and i know it doesn't have the L/R EQ.

9800/980 cannot go active.

SQ on the 9887, in my experience is better as it starts of with a flatter fr right out of the box, for some reason.

i says 3 way crossover.

I'm sure. It needs to say Pro mode. They consider "3-way crossover" to be the sub and the hpf/lpf for front/rear.

The 880 and 800 says 3way xover also and the lower level stuff says 2 way xover so I'm sure the 9800/980 is active capable

Do you have first hand experience? The 880 and 800 also say PRO mode, the 980 does not, and it does not run active. I have used it.

3-way, as stated = a crossover for front rear and sub.

Pro mode = active.

The 2-way ones only have high pass and low pass - the high pass effects the front and rears both, not individually, and then the sub has low pass.

If you cant bandpass the mids then its not active capable.
