I can get a good deal on a new one but I am having second thoughts I have heard that the sliding face is bad and wont last long.

Has anybody used them.What shoud I do?yes or no

its the ribbon that gets worn out after time .that is one of there known problems... however, they sell a kit on ebay for around 30 bucks...its a easy fix..

the deh-p8800mp is lovely. i got one.

that one breaks to easily. i used to have one. i bought if for 700 bucks at ultimate electronics. i didn't like it so i returned it and got a p7700 and a directed dvd player and directed lcd screen for my civic. it cost about 1000, but worth more then 700 for just one p9800 deck.
