pioneer 940 or dex-p9/deq-p9?

sup guys, im about to upgrade my head unit to a pioneer premier deh-p940mp but i just found the dex-p9 and i was wondering if the difference is that big. i also noticed that it could be paired up with the deq-p9, which has a 31 band eq. if i went with the dex-p9 i would buy it now and buy the deq-p9 a little later, so i was wondering how the dex-p9 was itself. what kind of features does it have compared to the 940, and what kind of built in eq does it have. im re-doing my system for SQ and if the difference is great i would gladly save up for the p9. o ya and im going to be running my speakers off an amplifier. thanks.

ok well we cant edit posts thats kinda dumb but oh well

remember that the 940 has 6v outputs so its gonna have better quality in sound

and i already went through the comparisons and the 940 is a lot better.

For a pure SQ install the P9 is a better choice. For a more flexible (MP3 etc) and aesthetically (subjective) pleasing install, the 940 is the better choice.

Alright, if you are looking for sound quality, go for the DEX-P9. Be warned, the unit without the DEQ-P9 is not going to really wow too many people.

Feature wise, the 940 has much more overall, with time correction, mp3 and graphical display. This is a great unit, have no doubt about that.

The DEX-P9 like I said isn't all that impressive without the DEQ-P9 (it has a sub output but no sub control without the **** DEQ-P9). But it has one of the best sound of any radio out there (24-BIT DAC!!!). Once you add the DEQ-9P, you will have time correction too, and with it's independ L/R 31-band equilizer, you can pretty much tune it anyway that you like! Now this is the unit you want if are going to be in competitions.

So if you have the money, drop it on the DEX-P9 and the DEQ-P9, but the DEH-P940MP is still a great unit. Keep in mind also that this is still going into a car, so there is going to be road noise when you drive. The 24-bit DAC is great and all, but you really won't see a difference in, lets say, a convertable. But if you have a nice luxury car that is quiet and sound proof from the road, it will make the music much more crisp and clear.
