Pioneer 880 question

I've read that it's possible to cut off the internal amp on these. I have a stock Rockford Fosgate system in my car now with an external (factory) amp. Could I turn off the internal amp on the 880 and use the one that's in the car now? Would it still send a signal through the wires to the factory amp? This would just be a temporary solution until I can get some components and another amp..

It would still send a signal thru the RCA's, I don't believe it would through the speaker outs since that's where your internal amp sends power.

Regards Sonny

That's what I was afraid of //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. I guess I'll have to live with this skipping piece of shit until I can get components then.

What is skipping?? Your 880??

No, my stock cd player skips whenever I hit the smallest bump, sometimes I just barely feel it and the **** thing skips.

I haven't ordered the 880 yet. I was going to if I could use it now, but I might as well wait since I won't be able to hook it up yet.

connect the 880 to the rockford should work.no reason why not.
Yeah that's what I was gonna do..then I read that would cause it to be double amped. The stock one doesn't have an internal amp supposedly. I could rewire the speakers and just feed them off the headunit...but I don't wanna do that unless I absolutely have to.

I just read somewhere that instead of hooking up the speaker wires on the aftermarket harness to the headunit, just solder some RCAs and hook them up to the RCA jacks so that it'll send out the signal to the amp. Does that sound like it would work or would that mess something up?

Here's a link to it:

It's towards the bottom..
