pioneer 880 not working

well the actual HU works. heres the deal.

theres a short or fuse blown in my factory wiring, dont care to find it, becuase the wires are getting to short anyways from everytime i change HUs. (cut the factory harness off, dont flame)

so i ran a new 12v constant wire. tapped into the passenger power seat wires. when i hook the constant AND the switched wires from the pioneer harness to the constant 12v seat wire, the HU works fine. i ran a switched wire on a switch (that i would hide and just leave on) and it doesnt work.

can you ground the switched wire?

at the moment im trying to find somewhere in my dash thatll be easy to tap into thats a switched 12v wire.

help me out guys
