Pioneer 8600mp???

How is the time between MP3's when you play a burned CD-R? Does it take a good 3-5 seconds between songs, or faster? Im liking what I read and hear about this deck, plus it looks stylish. Its hard to pass up Alpine 9833 with what I read as well, always gets good marks.

when i first insert a cd full of mp3s, it takes a good 3-5seconds to load up. however, once its already playing tracks, changing tracks has

scrolling through MP3s is a dream compared to the 9831 at least...

its so fast and easy to read... i cant wait to put a set of comps. and

another amp on it...

so is anyone running their 860 in NETWORK mode...

do you have to have 3 amps to do that???

i was wondering the same myself...

i have a single 2 channel amp for my comps then my sub amp. would i gain anything from running the network?

i don't know, so don't quote me. but i think that the network would be better for running, for instance, a DIY comp set w/ a 4 channel amp. but in my case since i have the passive crossover for the comps and only 2 channels to work with i don't think i'll gain anything. but i don't know......

network mode is for biamping ur comps (going active).

regular is front, rear, sub

network is high, mid, low

Just curious, the title of the Thread/Post was "Pioneer 8600mp???". Whats the major difference between 8600 and 860 Premier? I see volts are slightly higher on 860, why is this important? Most people on this post seem to have the 860 premier and like it, but I notice the two decks look similar and have gotten solid reviews. Is 860 worth the few extra $?

if you buy the premier version from an authorized dealer it

carries a 2 year warranty rather than the pioneers 1 year

warranty... also, like you said the voltage is a little better

on the premier... i dont think the pioneer has the "network mode"

though...

its up to you whether its worth it...

to get a cleaner stronger signal to the amp.

so you dont have to turn the amps gain up as high, possibly reducing noise.

a higher number will be percieved as better to the general

public and help sell more expensive decks evn though

the general public probably wont notice a difference between

4 volts and 6.5 volts...

Ah thank you for clarifying, so in all reality the 8600 is pretty decent, but you dont think it networks amps? If I'm just planning to have maybe 1 or 2 amps, how important is networking? Any drawbacks you have experienced with your 860 so far? -MC

im only using standard mode right now because i just

have the sub amp... i plan to do my comps this spring

so maybe ill get to play with it then...

i dont want to mislead you... i actually asked about

what exactly "network mode" was good for myself...

if the $$$ savings is significant enough im sure the 8600

is an awesome deck... otherwise why not get the snotty

"premier" version!?!?!?

outside of actually LEARNING how to use the features i

have not come across any issues with the deck... which

is pretty darn awesome since the ////Alpine deck i had

right before it, i hated pretty much as soon as i installed

it... [which is why i took it back and got the 860]

Very good to know. I think I've narrowed it down to the Pioneer then. I was considering the Alpine CDA 9833, but Im seeing that Pioneer has a great product. I missed out on a steal, someone had the 860 on Ebay for $215, used. Soon tho, soon..thanks for your advice/info..MC

That's right 1200mk, they dont even have them in stock anymore..Go with ebay for it now..But I think Im just about sold on these Pioneer's. Unless I can find a kick ass deal on in dash dvd w or w/o monitor..peace
