Pioneer 780 LPF and HPF or JL 500/1's or both ?

Which LPF should i use. The pioneer 780 or the JL 500/1. Right now i have both of them on and it sounds fine but i doubt i can turn off the lpf on the pioneer hu. Im going to use the Pioneer 780 HPF for my ppi a600.2 amp for the components so no problems there since the ppi does'nt have any filters.

just use the crossover on your headunit as you can make easy adjustments from the driver seat. i would suggest to use one or the other, not both.

well after playing with it. It sounds better with both the HU and AMP LPF set to ON.

I cant set the LPF on my 780 to pass or off so im stuck with it. I tried setting the amp filter to off but it sounded more distorted that way so i just left the LPF on the hu to 12db slope and at 80hz and the same on my 500/1 and it sounded better.

Im going to read the 780 manual to see if i can turn off the lpf on the hu.

I think you can if you are using the rear speakers input not the subwoofer one.

Set the LPF on your amp to full and adjust according via the HU.
