Pioneer: 6800MP vs 680MP vs 590iB

So I'm getting a new head unit, and then will get an amplifier and rainbow components. I found this deck and it looks good.

But then there is this, which has higher preout volts (4 volts compared to 2.2)

The 590iB comes all iPod ready, the 680MP is exactly the same as the 6800 but has 4 volts preouts, and the 6800MP is at crutchfield, which would ship free, and send all the installation stuff for free. Sonicelectronix sends some installation stuff free, but I don't know if the service would be as good as crutchfield.

I came upon this deck because of MP3/WMA/AAC playback, capability to run an iPod, and looks good for the price for what you get, has 3 preouts and high-pass and low-pass and subwoofer control (may get a sub later on) and all the reviews seem to be good.

Any opinions welcomed

There is another post on downward with the exact same questions as yours. If you plan on getting an amp, go with the one that has 4v preouts. The 590ib has all of the same options as the 680mp but it comes with the ipod cable and the new 2007 stuff seems really really quality.

oh yeah, and dont worry about Crutchfield. Sonicelectronix has lower prices and better options and service that is just as nice.

So the 590iB is the 07 model? Its cheaper than the 680mp. Anybody know how the iPod interface is on the 590iB? I noticed a problem with the 5800 is when playing an iPod (according to reviews) it has combinations for display but is missing Song/Artist.

If the 590iB is the 07 model and has all the features of the 680mp and just as good of quality, I don't see why anyone would buy the 680mp for a higher price. If thats true, I will buy it definitely

The 590ib Is actually nicer than the 680. I was just looking over all of the details. Exact same processing capabilities as the 680 but the 590 has more crossover options. This is easily the best cd player out right now for the money. It also comes with the cable for ipod connection. Both screens on the 590/680 will show song/artist.

i just bought the 680MP a week ago, then i read this thread, went back and exchanged it for the 590IB ftw.

get the 590, to hook up an ipod to the 6800 or 680 u have to buy a 50.00 piece that ib100II or something like that, so it displays, charges, works flawlessly in the radio
