ok, i had 680 in my other honda and was fine. now in the honda i have now, the antenna has been shaved and i never use the radio, just cd's, but the radio wont work without the antenna plugged in. is there anyway to get around this
are you asking if the radio won't work without the antenna plugged in?
do you live next to a radio station...then probably not.
If you're asking why the volume on the pioneer is lower without the antenna plugged in...then yes, you'll have to at least plug an antenna end into the unit...could use a small rubber antenna and shove it in the dash. There are numerous amplified antennas for hot rods and such that will either adhere to your window or even go up in your headliner.
I guess you don't want a short antenna stuffed up under the dash as jdrockafella suggested.
I dunno - go buy a replacement antenna - maybe even try a salvage yard - cut off the plug & a short length of cable (to grab hold of to aid in removing from the radio if you need to), plug it in & see if it works? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
i found the problem. some moron, apparently who owned the car before me, had another fuse going to radio where he had cut the factory plug off at down behind the dash about 8 inches from the radio. anyway, thanks for help, but its working now without antenna.
