Yes, I really, REALLY liked the McIntosh Line Arrays and equipment. Although a bit out of my price range it sounded ohh sooo good:

I really liked the Sooloos Media Server. Two terabyte capacity, Raid configuration allows for seamless audio streams if one blade crashes.

I also liked this horn setup. It was very dynamic and the vocals were very impressive. Also a bit out of my price range:

And last but not least was the Martin Logan look-a-likes which aren't manufactured anymore (they were a personal speaker pair of the vendor) I forget what the name of those speakers was but they sounded very, very good.

that last one is some kind of electrostat. supposedly makes for some amazing clarity - critical mass supposedly did a perfect 40 at a world finals SQ compeition with estat speakers they 'designed'.

cool stuff - i wish i would get to go to one of these conventions.

The RMAF was pretty kickass, something came up and I had to leave late saturday afternoon though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Pete, docutech seems like a pretty cool guy too.

The McIntosh room was utterly kickass, the linearrays were amazing. My favorite room was the Cain & Cain room though, IMHO it is amazing what they do.

Would have loved to get a listen of these equipment, what is it exactly? people bring their home system and show them up? Or its each compagny shows their gears? btw, are these Rainbow Reference line?

And snake oil salesman for some products. *IMO*
I'm not going to touch that one...

Lets just say from what I have read so far our opinions differ slightly...

But, don't get me wrong, I'm no cable extremist... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

It is the whole elevating the speaker cables off of the carpet, 'vibration dampening' tables that cost 1,000$ and everything that gets me. I do believe that to a certain degree some of the stuff helps out, but I think a LOT of it is just a placebo effect.

My .02$ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The McIntosh room had nothing special about the cables though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I think that cables off the floor is retarded. Seriously just goofy. I think that vibration dampening helps, but you can build that stuff on your own with a couple of shower curtain rings and some racquetballs...
