Yeah I think they are the max specs not RMS because nowhere on the website does it say RMS. And 1600 RMS@2 ohm is almost unheard of for such a cheap amp.

It won't hurt anything if you hook it up correctly. Only reason I would add a cap is if you're getting dimming or lots of voltage fluctuation caused by your system.

Nah haven't got any of that i have a really powerfull battery like way up in the 1500 or something like that im not sure i know its alot though but since any of my systems i havent had any dimming etc.......(knock on wood) just sayn would it hurt ?

Don't buy a capacitor.......don't.......Install your system and set your gains correctly and if you get dimming then try doing the BIG 3 with 1/0 gauge power and ground wire.

If you still get dimming after all that then you need a bigger alternator.

How many amps is your alternator?What year make and model vehicle is it?
