basically, build a bed-box that is waterproof, and cut a hole in the back of the bed\cabin that are about the same size, and find some wide-gasket spacer stuff and seal the gap between the two areas. seal the bed-box to the back of the truckbed (bolt it down to the bed from the inside too) and fire the subs thru the hole.

bout as easy as you can do it.

if it were me, i would get somone who can weld, and weld some support to each area you are cutting before you cut, maybe you can rivet, but tis not as strong.

prefab box in a blowthru........hmmmm.....i know how to weld and im gonna support it i just wanna see some picture of finished products before i go cutting on sumthin and not get what i hope for ya know.....just shootin for ideas

if you do it yourself, it's only pretty much the cost of the normal audio stuff (subs, box, amp, wiring) plus maybe $50 for the rubber gasket and some other misc. stuff.

labor for something like that someone would probably charge you either a shitload (like at a car audio shop) or next to nothing(at a local body shop).

if you can weld and shit, do it urself it'll be a cheap, good project. i was wanting to do it to my 2000 single cab silverado, but decided against cutting up the body of a somewhat new truck.

according to my stereo guy, blow throughs should be a ported box tunneled into the cab. the front baffle literally needs to be tunneled through into the cab by extending the external walls if that makes any sense. either you could fiberglass it or carpet it and put a tonneu (sp?) on the bed.

i was accually thinking of doing 1 15inch MTX RFL woofer in a big ported box not sure what size yet...and i was gonna coat the box in resin and cover the part in the bed with diamond plate

oh, and you have to use a boot in between the bed and cab, to keep it waterproof.

i would do it but i dont until the trucks paid off. when i notch the bed to air bag it il do it. but until that no still got about 3 years left of payment so im not cutting anything now lol

lol my orignal plan when i get it was to bag it...but ibeams are a ***** and expensive so its lowered 2/4 coils and flip kit...but i've figured out what subs im gonna use im gonna get 2 15inch Orion XTR pros i had 1 back in the day and it was loud...im gonna see how loud the lil ranger can get....i also plan on getting either ID Horns or some Wave guides with 2 7inch midbass's....im gonna buy all this stuff at once i got about 1300 saved up for rims im gonna use for this project...still need to scrape a few more hundred together to get everything..
