Picking a car for your sound equipment.

I want a new car, 2008 Charger. BUT Is this a good solid car to build a sound system in. I love the Charger but I am so serious about this future build that I am willing to look at other options if the Charger is a rattle trap.

Thanks in advance

If I was going to buy a vehicle with audio getting the primary focus, I'd buy a van or SUV. Lots of space for component speakers, the subs are inside with you. no problemo with amp locations and you don't have to make the compromises one does with sedans/coupes with trunks.

If you do insist on going full-sized MoPar RWD, get a Magnum. That's about as close as you'll get to a sporty wagon so you get the sub and amps inside what should be an always dry interior as well as getting your sub in the open. You can go for the Hemi or the V-6 depending on whether you want ballsy performance or decent economy.

You can also wait to get the Challenger. Why be stuck with a 4-door car that looks like a dud when you compare it to a real muscle car coupe? Cops are starting to use those Chargers too, so consider that image factor. The first Challengers are out this month and they'll be the full boat ones but if you wait a little while you can get a more reasonable price (say $35K) than the $50+K price the loaded to the gills uber-performance ones will be listed for.

WOW so I never thought about having the subs with you. Is there that much difference. I was kind of stoked about having everything in the trunk. So what I want is death defying BASS for HARD CORE RAP music. I will deaden everything, replace the HU and all speakers and add the sub or subs in the trunk.

Thought's? Man I dont want an SUV.

Thanks Biker

we've done a few of those cars at my shop, and the loudest we've done so far is a Mojo 12 in the big box, about 1000 watts and vented the trunk. installer cut a hole somewhere in the trunk to allow pressure to escape. Yes, it sounds wierd, but for some reason those cars are louder with the trunk open (in the cabin). It's pretty crazy. And you may consider listening to a car with the boston system because it may give you some factory mounting options that aren't available in the base audio cars.
