It needs a recone(coil is screwed) but gawd daaaaaamn it is heavy, I think the motor is as large as a TC Sounds 4hp motor. Here it is sitting in front of my 22 inch LCD

A 15 inch sub that's more like 17 inch, the cone is only about 10 1/4" in diameter

It has a replaceable cone/coil assembly and I think I'm gonna take it apart later. Anyone wanna see that?

thought these had a pretty high FS or something of that nature that caused them to be horrible for daily. Can't remember though, they used to come with a recone kit as well if I recall but don't quote me on that.

Yep I think it's around 60Hz, it probably sounds like fart for daily hahaha. The recone kit is nowhere to be found and I don't want the fart cone anyway so hopefully the sub builders on our forum can give me a retune.

Whats the power handling on that beast? RMS/Burp?

I'm not sure, it says 4000 watts on the magnet so my guess is around that. This one has a coil that's scraping against the pole, previous owner said he had it in a 6 cubic feet ported box and "a few thousand watts all day"

I have two local that need reconed. Let me know how much the recone costs, I may pick those two up!

I mentioned this woofa to SPLaudio and since he hasn't done a RFL he's gonna need some measurements first. I picked up mine super cheap so you should get them if they're cheap.

audio phil was selling just a motor of one of these a while back, if I recall he said most standard 3" coils will fit. I know that doesn't help but better than nothing haha.

So here's with the clamp removed, there are six bolts that holds the spider ring/cone assembly in place and is kinda hard to get to them since they're under the cone. See that black uneven ring? That's a roll of electrical tape... my guess is so the spider ring thing gets a good seal, or something.

Some pole molestation evidence here

There are 4 spiders in that red metal ring, the outer diameter of the ring is 10 inches and the moving part of the spider is ~8 3/4 to 9". The coil has hard plastic wrapped around it, my guess is so that even if the coil's glue failed from heat the coils will still be together so it can "limp" through SPL comps.

That gooey-looking stuff on the cone is I think fiberglass resin and it is really hard.

Here you can see a few lines that were on their way to burn through the plastic wrap. It is interesting that the coil doesn't look burnt.

There are six bolts holding the motor and the basket together, I'm glad that there are no glues.

Biggest motor for a 3" coil that I've ever seen haha

The pole stick out a good inch and a half, triple-stacked 298oz magnet. Does it fit 8 layer coils? I'd hope so haha. It does have hella excursion clearance though.

FYI RFL = Real ****ing Loud, kinda like American Bass VFL amps... Very ****ing Loud, but right now it is as quiet as a dead person //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The surround measures 16" from edge to edge(including the part that gets clamped down) so the diameter is 50.24". Measuring just to the moving part of the surround is 13 7/8" so that diameter is 43.5675". The surround is 2" wide and the cone itself is about 10" across.
