Pick Your Best SQ Comp. Parts <1500

Seems like every comp. speaker has it drawbacks/weaknesses, be it Iridiums, Profi Vans, Utopias, CDT ES-07, Dynaudios, Lotus ref. Either they are too bright, you can not bi-amp the crossover, midbass is weak, tweeter is not silk or al. is too harsh etc. If you could take the best of these, how would you configure under $1500. And if so how would you configure rear fill on a four door?

Active crossover...nuff said //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

DIY is also very popular with doing an active setup.

madisound.com and partsexpress.com offer a wide vareity of very nice woofers

Or custom passive if you don't have the time/expertise/equipment to properly tweak the EQ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I guess you could by ear if you have a good ear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm a fan of seas -- Nextel drivers = good warm detailed full sounding drivers... Scanspeak Rev. series isn't too shabby but scan is pulling alot of the diy components as far as I know...

Peerless has some new stuff that looks interesting that I have yet to try...

Dayton RS is good quality on a budget... which you aren't on but it is still awesome...

Accuton is awesome if detail is the goal...

I'm currently using 7" Seas Excel w18nx001 ($320pair) with Seas Lotus Reference fabric tweets ($230 pair) for a cool $550 for the entire set, along with an alpine 701 combo ($400 processor, $200 controller). kickass setup for under $1200 IMO.

Sounds like it. I'm looking for some raw drivers myself to use with my P9. I have MTX Black Gold drivers but I can't help but think there are better ones out there. Besides that I'm bored and want something to do.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
