Phoenix gold ZPA 0.5

So my friend discovered he had an old Phoenix gold ZPA 0.5 tucked away in his attic. Its never been out of the box (yeah I seen it with my own eyes) I can probably get it off him for like 300-350..

What do you guys know about this amp? Worth the money? I checked a couple of past auctions on e-bay and the price is right for what they are going for on e-bay. All the ebay auctions say "one of the best amps phoenix gold ever made" blah blah blah - true?? opinions??

Yes its worth that and then some. thats one of the best pg amps ever. Ide be all over that If I were you.

Real good amp he could get at least 500 for it if he asked one of the best sounding amp PG ever made I think. That amp will put out some power but you will need to send it some good power to. But Its a great amp and a great find wish I had that freind.

yup it still got the plastic on the plexi even- this thing hasnt even been hooked up!

Heres a question though - I will obveously be using this to power some subs. You guys think I should sell this thing for a profit and get something thats Class D or would you guys keep this?

You would have to be crazy to sell a brand new one. Keep it and you will love it. you wont find a cleaner sounding amp, esepcially for that price, and that thing looks good. That amp is basicly the trademark for pg.

KEPP IT! there's a mod you can do to it, if you trust yourself, to get more power out of it at two ohms mono. I have a white ZPA0.3 that I payed $400.00 NIB 7 months ago, did the mod and it is truly awsome. I am VERY biased to PG, right here

It's easy. You can do it. All you need is a finger nail clipper. That's what I used. I'll find the pic that shows what two diodes to cut and post it. That's it.
