phoenix gold vs alpine (5ch)

I'm thinking about buying a 5 channel amp and was looking at the Phoenix Gold Octane-R 9.0:5 and the Alpine MRV-F450 V12. I have an alpine Head Unit (9815) and 2 sets of Boston Accoustic 6.5 components and plan to get a 10" sub, maybe the JL stealth box and sub for my GTI. I've done the multi amp mutli 12" sub etc and want to go for a more conservative/lesser setup.

Which 5ch do you recommend, Phoenix Gold or Alpine? Or can you recommend something different?

I like Alpine Head units, but I'd probably take a Gold amp over alpine. Its just me but I think Alpine amps are a little over rated.(gonna catch hell for that one :readytogo )

Alpine amps are definately overrated and over priced, check out the Diamond Audio D7 5 channel

the D7 is awsome
