The amp i was pushing the one 12 with was a Alpine, however people on this forum have reported running 1000w daily to them.

As Demi said, I believe I heard about a tech put who put a 2k RMS sine wave through an RSD and he couldn't kill it, from this site too.

I was thinking about getting the RSD, having heard techs say they are built like a tank compared to the Xenon line that I have, but my Xenon can hit hard and low when asked to, even in the small sealed enclosure I made for it! I love this thing, and I still have to tune it for 600 RMS.

If u really want a sub that sounds as good as the IDMax12 but dont want to pay $450 for it then look into the IDQ12. Thats the only real sub I would recommened. I've heard the RSD12d once, its a great SQ driver and it does get pretty low. But not like the IDQ. If u were looking for pure SQ then I would recommened the IDQ12 over the IDMax.

The rsds drop lower than the idqs no doubt... And the xenons laugh at both the rsd, and idq on the low end.

I just bought two RSD12D's... just need an amp to power them.

Hard to find a decent amp that will send 500-750 watts @ 2 Ohms a piece to these babys.

That one channel amp can be seperated into 2 channels, for 500 watts @ 2 ohms x2?

Not a bad idea.. keep it in the PG family, pretty pricey though

That amp is a mono block. It will do 1200+ @ 2 ohms. So yes, 600+ each sub. Assuming you have the single 4 ohm rsds, then it will work perfect.

Well if you bought the dual 4 ohm rsds, then you need an amp that puts out full power at 1 or 4 ohms, not 2 ohms. Maybe take a look at an exile 1200.1.

It can, but I was under the impression that you had two woofers. If you just have 1 woofer, then an rsd 500.1 should work fine.

I have two woofers, I see what you are saying then, I need a mono block amp that gives its full power rating @ 1 ohm and that will split that power into both channels?

The power will split between both subs anyways. Just look for an amp that is good for 1kw @ 1 or 4 ohms. A good choice would be an exile 1200.1 that i suggested
