Phoenix Gold RSd 12" is overrated??

Yeah it's a common chamber, not a dual. So you think that make's a difference then?
The biggest difference you could possibly have.

While I can't speak for the RSD itself as I have not heard one, given you placed the sub in a PR enclosure for which you have no idea of of the enclosure volume or tuning frequency (with inadequate PR displacement to boot) I'm not at all surprised results were subpar at best.

Ok I got my box late last night, hooked it all up and all I can say is WAAAAANG!!. Complete night and day difference! In terms of SQ this sub definately is in the same class as the IDMAX and if anything, it even hits tighter than the IDMAX, which really suites my tastes.

Also, I knew it was more an SQ sub, that is why I bought it. But I didn't expect it to hit so loud! I have it hooked up with only 480watts rms with a Profile amp and it registered 135 Db on a TL meter. I was shocked on how good and how hard this sub hit. I know lot's of people that put up huge Db's but the bass sounds like *** and distortion. This bass was crystal clear all the way up to full volume and it really rumbled my chest as well, which I love. I was planning on getting a new amp with more power but now I don't even think I will do that. This Profile amp works this sub like a champ!

I wasted a full tank of gas today just cruising around to different buddies and relatives homes to give them a "taste test". Everyone was amazed that I got this much output from 1 12" in a sealed box off less than 500 watts. 4 of my friends bought this same sub today just after hearing mine.

If anyone wants a great SQL sub for under 100 bucks, don't even look anywhere else, this sub definately lives up to the hype!

Yeah. I had no clue what "passive radiator" or any of that was so I was real bummed at first that it didn't sound great like I expected it to.

Now with the right enclosure, it met and exceeded all my expectations! With amp and sub at about 200 bucks total, it's value can't be beat. I got buddies with close to a grand in stereo equiment in their trunks and this setup beats them.

"Pound for pound" this setup is about impossible to beat

Out of curiosity what profile amp do you have?

Profile AP1000. I bought it on ebay new for about a 100. I have never had any problems with it going into protect or overheating. It just does it's job.

Before i got my sub, i had planned on selling it thinking I would need more power but now I think I will just keep it because it pushes that sub real nice.

Almost twice the power to two of them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ~1.9^3 ft sealed in a single cab truck, its pretty **** loud.

Listen to them in a proper install then make your judgments!

If you referring to comments from cot jones..that's the "best buy story" guy. I don't know anyone pays any attention to him, lol. Check out his previous posts if you want a good laugh.

The RSD12 is a great sub. Pound for pound it has to be one of the best there is. It compares and sometimes performs even better than subs that cost hundreds of dollars more like the Idmax or JL W6v2.

here is a great review on the RSD12 head to head against other popular SQL subs

I wouldnt go as far as sayin that the RSD is on par with the w6v2 or the IDMAX. But it is a good sub
