I stand corrected, but I've a feeling that they never made production. DEI saw to that.

There were only 3 styles/models of the 2100 made. The original with the dark red matte anodizing and the moon and stars logo and small font. The second was the first glossy red Digital Reference. The last was the Competition Amplifier version (which is the version that I have). Those were produced up until the "r" series HCCAs were replaced with the G4 amps. The 2100 went out of production when the G4s came out. I've heard some really dumb claims about them on the net and pretty much all of them are crap.

i remember seeing a online store that offered it at one time... thats the only reason i brought it up in the first place... if you googled it and saw this mustang, the guy is asking if anyone else has one... like he bought it at a store and knows nothing about its history or if there were more... if he was a inside guy he would know the deal ...it just might be one of the rarest amps on the planet... we might be uncovering something here... investment ?

i wouldnt give it the trust i would to and old 2100 thow... nothing like old faithful to do the job... those xtr1400s i had turned me right off... they were blowing as fast as they were selling... bed time.. all done for tonight

Based on the fact that I'd never seen one until that pic you posted, I would have to agree that it is one of the rarest amps from a mainstream company. The fact that it seems pretty much no one really seems to know anything about them and the timeframe in which they would have been made, I would guess VERY low production run. Possibly in the sub 100 range. After the DEI buyout, a lot of the great amps were ruined for the G5 run. I'd buy one if I found it at this point, just to have. Kind of like my Son of Frank, though I have been using it for the last year on mids and highs.

only 4 of my US Amps 100HCs were made before the US Amps buyout...mine are built on the 2000x board instead of the 1000x board which makes my two some of the rarest production US Amps made....
