No but the caps are old and leak, they will need to be replaced if you plan on using it for an amplifier and not a hibachi.

SQ means nothing its how you apply it and what speakers you put it on. They preform well and are very nice amplifiers. Repair all depends on who you take it to.

Although it was funny.. My first post was dead serious, those caps leak and if the fluid shorts the traces it will catch fire. I have seen it happen and heard of guys almost losing their cars because of it.

Before doing so, I would take the top off and check the caps near the torrid transformer. Take a q-tip and bush along the board near the caps and see if it is wet. Also take a small piece of paper and slide it under the caps to see if it gets wet as well.

Do this before putting power on it avoid damage.

Those were great little amps in their day. I'd also worry about 25 year old components failing. In those days PG made some really high end stuff, not the same-old chinese mid-fi as a half dozen other brands use.
