phoenix gold comps any good?

I am looking to add some components to my car. 96 accord..HU is a alpine 9856/ mainly listen to hiphop. 1-12"CVR sealed 1.5ft3 box. w/ phoenix gold 400watt amp...can you also suggest a good 2 or 4 channel amp...looking to add front comp first, then maybe add some to the rear deck..looking to spend around $100 for front comps right now including shipping..amp around $150 if I get a 4 channel..don't know much about hifonics amps, but I saw several 4channels on ebay for around $150 shipped. Also do I need to run an amp on my comps, or will my HU push them

Use an amp for the comps.

Hifonics amps are not high end equipment, but they are decent. Check the classified section, cause you should be able to find a slightly used 4 channel Phoenix Gold amp for close to that. Also check out the Xterminator line by US Amps.

the new RSD components dont sound half bad, especially at the price point.
