right now ive got two 10" jl audio w6's, with a 900 watt pyramid signature series amp on em. what i want to do is buy one more, and get a good amp to push them to their limit. a friend of mine said that a phoenix gold amp at 250 watts would push them all really hard, but since mine is at 900 watts, and doesnt seem to be going hard at all, i dont know if that would be right. what kind of phoenix gold would work well with the 3 10's(300watt subs)?

Let me put it to you this way...a 2 watt PG amp is 3 times better than a 1000 watt Pyramid amp. Definitly get the Phoenix Gold.

Originally posted by big dong is it just because the pg is better brand that it works better at less watts or what? do think pg is the way to go or is precision power better?
Now your talking...

PPI and PG are great companies that you will be happy with

Also look into:

DEI

JL amps

Autotek

PPI is even better than PG, the reason for Ranger saying a less watt PG will do leaps and bounds more performance than a pyramid is because pyramid overrates their amps drasticlly.

Exactly...but I'm not sure that PPI is better than PG...an age old debate though

Another one to look into:

Zapco- if you can stomach the price

pg is great i have two titanium 250's pushing two jl w0 im gonna get new subs but they still hit really hard. i have them right up against my back seats in the f-150 and its like getting hit in the back with a foam bat.
