PG Xenon Owners (Broken Amp)

Well I thought I lucked up on my 1200.1 Xenon I bought from ebay hearing all the bad batch talk and what not. It was purchased over a year ago and it went down about a month ago..heard a strange noise and then it stopped working/protect mode. Well I am having it repaired locally but my question is, for those of you who own Xenon amps that have gone bad, what exactly went bad on them and how long did you have the amp before the problems.

Hopefully my 200.4 wont crap out on me either //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif , anyways they are good amps and its a shame PG did not continue to make these types of amps..1-4 ohm stable range.

You should send it off to pg, I wouldnt really trust many besides pg to fix it. Chances are, you could run into the same problem again shortly down the road. Also be sure you are using sufficient wiring/ electrical upgrades for those amps. The xenons are power hogs. I would use both terminals for both amps.

Yeah they are hungry, I will try both terminals for each amp. As far as the repair, its not expensive and if it goes down again (hope not) I will send it to Pg. As far as wiring I have 1/0 from the battery to the trunk, into dist. which goes to 2 4 ga wire and 4 ga grounds and Big 3 with red top under hood. Looking into getting a battcap as well. If all else fails, H/O alt.

i had a 200.4 that died after a year.. and another 2004 i had worked when it was shipped but didnt when i unpacked it and tried it out... the thing was packaged very well and showed no damaged...sometihng must have rattled loose.

i thought the only faulty ones shipped way back in '04 and it was fixed for the majority of the time they shipped them.

Seems like the only good ones are the one that have been refurbished by PG. It seems like the majority of the Xenons crapping out are 1200.1 and the 200.4, which I own...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
