PG Xenon Amp Question????

After reading some threads on this board, I'm leaning towards buying a couple

of Xenon amps x400.1 and x200.2. Now the question is, I read some of these Xenon amps had problems are the one I listed the ones with issuses? Is there something else I should look at in this price range? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Most of the problems were with the very first batch of Xenon amps. It's been long enough now that most of these are likely out of the system. If you are buying used...by now the amp either wouldn't be working or has already been fixed. If you are buying new, it is not very likely that there are many (or any) still being sold from retailers (authorized or egay).

All in all, you have a very slim chance of getting one of the amps from the "bad" batches.

my bro ran a 100.2 and fried 2 in 4 months and his third is golden,, pg not what it used to be. imo
Either 1, he got 2 bad amps, or 2 car audio isnt his thing..

All the good xenons have been running strong for a while now. I had a 200.2, and ran perfect for the year I had it. The xenon amps arent any less quality of the old school amps. I have a m44, and when the gains were matched, I could not tell a difference between the 2.Pg had a bad batch, which many manufacturers go through. This does not mean that their quality is less. The quality is still there, and getting better fyi.

Your old 200.2 is still going strong.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I just un-installed it last week. I really like the Xenon amps. They're very underated. The only downside is the size. As far as SQ......Just listen.

I doubt you will have any problems with it. I use to own the 200.4 and the 1200.1 and never had any problems with either, just had to sell them because I didn't have any room to spare in my new vehicle.

If by some reason one does go bad, just make sure you the one you buy has a serial number on it so you cans send it to PG to get it repaired. PG is still a solid amp, they just don't look all that great anymore IMHO.

My 1200.1 just went out. But, going with earlier posts, it was used from a forum, so it could very likely have been a part of that batch. I have two other PG amps running solid as rocks, even after almost nuking the one's power supply*thank god for fuses*.

Go for it. Great flexibility and adjustment.
