PG RSD10d DVC amp help please

okay, I have a refurb kx600.1 powering two of the aforementioned subs. I believe they are 4ohms, however I notice lately when the volume's turned up, the subs cut out until sound is turned down. I had a knucklehead install my subs and the amp. I had no clue about dvc and what it meant. He apparently didn't either and I"m unsure how he wired it. Anyhow, I'd like a newer amp perhaps a 1000.1 to power these. I saw on another post the zx750.1 not working with dvc 4 ohm. I need to be schooled as to how my kx600.1 or even higher are okay for these subs. Any recommendations on amps, less than 350 or explanations of these dvc's? Thanks from a super newbie.

the kicker mono block sub woofer amps will only run at 2 or 4 ohms. look at rockford fosgate or jbl's website for a guide to wiring DVC(dual voice coil) subs. if you have 2 dvc subs and you want a 2ohm final load then you need two 2 ohm dvc subs. 2 dual 4 ohms subs will not wire to a 2 ohm final load.

well, i've already got the dvc 4ohm subs, my mistake. If i want to deliver 500 watts to each of these, what amp recommendations do you have? Would it be better if i just get two of the same subs running at 4ohm no dvc? or some of these http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14036. ihave depth restrictions and can only go as deep as the rsd's.

No, just get an amp that is 1 ohm stable and then wire your two dual 4 ohm subs to 1 ohm final load.

Looks like the hifonics is just the right size for my needs, while the cadence is over two feet long. I've got an offer on ebay I've made for one. We'll see.

Thanks for the replies tcguy!! I"m glad I don't have to get rid of my subs. They sound good already, can't imagine with more watts!!
