Hifonics Brutus good ?

I ran my BXi2006D for over a year with no problems.

Durability - I managed to break off two of the mounting tabs while it was screwed to the back of my box. My cheap, pre-fab box blew out (the back), so that is probably why.

Efficient - Not really, playing a long bass note (Ya'll Heard of Me - C Murder, BG), you just watch your voltage drop. My SAZ1500 dips a little bit, but nowhere near the Brutus. I had to turn my volume down with the Brutus for fear of killing my battery.

Good power, good value, not so excellent efficiency.

effiecient: not really

durable: proper ground and voltage, yes. bestbuy ground, no.

they have a good cost/watt ratio.

and for the haters.....they do rated power at 14.4 and reactive load at 1.

personally, i currently own 4 hifonics amps. take good care of them and they wont give you any problems.

I have the new BXI2607's and I must say I am impressed. I do not see how everybody says they are overrated, they are pounding the hell out of my HD3's with no problem, they do not even get warm. Oh yeah while I was waiting to get my second 2607 I ran the 1 on both of my HD3 15's at .5 ohm and it took it like a champ. Even at .5 ohm the thing did not get warm. Very good amp for the money. When I had the one at .5 ohm on both 15's it pushed my subs just as hard, if not harder than my previous amps, which were the 07 US Amps MD3D's strapped each seeing a 1 ohm load. But if I were you I would probably buy one above the power you need this way you get the power you want even with rise and voltage drop

well if its for your l7's i'd put a bxi2006d on each sub. when i used to like l7's i would put them in cars and usually put that amp with it and a single yellowtop and stock alt. always seemed to work well.

I got the colossus....I love my amp.....People get pissed at them because they are cheap but in my perspecitve I love em lol

at .5 they warm up a little. my 4 will be at .5 for burping this summer. still deciding whether i will bassrace them at .5 or 2. when i got my 4 new 2607d's i hooked them up to my friends explorer to make sure they dont explode like yours did. but they all worked.

the amp that I had smoke was one of the few Hifonics defective amps, considering how many they sell and produce. That amp was running at a 1 ohm nominal load and smoked before any real bass hit. I had the one functional one at .5 ohm nominal and as I said it barely got warm at that load. I think you could run them @ .5 ohm daily if you know what you are doing. I was thinking about strapping them to .25 ohm load for burps, because it did not stress at all running it @ .5 ohm for daily beating. I wish my coil config would allow me to run them strapped at .5 ohm a piece, because with rise it would be more like 1.5-2 ohm, but my only options are 1 ohm a piece or .25 ohm a piece and I do not know if they will take .25 ohm, even with rise. So I am running them each at 1 ohm nominal and they kick like no tommorrow, this is my first exp. with Hifonics and I think they are **** good amps, especially for the price.
