Why is there a huge difference?

No set Xover points, slopes, gain, etc. I can do it all myself.

its just hard to believe when i know for a fact the id xs mids will take a few hundred watts no problem. granted the xs mids and oems are not the same but still come from the same manufacturer

Pretty sure the passive xover points are set at 2.5KHz, probably with 12dB/octave slopes.

I really don't see how you gained so much by just switching to active with these. I think I tried crossing the tweeters at 5KHz with my DXZ785USB and they still didn't sound that great. IMO, the factory xover points are just fine for this set.

The only thing I can think of being a positive is that you can turn down the gain for the tweets, but they sound like crap anyway so who cares?

I just prefer to be able to adjust everything to my listening needs, at the point of my finger tips, whether my Xover points/Slopes are the same as the factory passive Xover.
