PG RSD amp Q

I have two Phoenix gold rsd's both svc 4 ohm, I was going to buy an alpine mrp-1000 and run 500 to each @2ohms but I just can't help thinking that there is something better/more powerful out there for $250, it's msrp is 400 and its alpine so it is quality but I don't want to throw down 250 on an alpine name when I can get something else that does the job better. If you think I should run something stronger by all means throw it out there.

I would like to go with an amp that many would swear by, providing true clean power to make these subs rail, an amp everyone has good things to say about, ideally I am hoping I get a whole bunch of responses being the same amp and everyone chiming in saying "oh yeah, that amp will be great". Now I know that's less than likely but I can hope, and it is a DD so I want good SQ as well.

on a side note I believe my box is too large, 3.6 cubes sealed, so I might build a smaller one.

Please let me know what amp/s you recommend, and if you think its needed- a new size for my box

Everyone on phoenixphorum says the RSD like to be in 1.8 each sealed so your box is fine. The RSD also can take a lot of power so i would recommend going with a sundown 1500 at running it at 1 ohm. The amp is underrated and will most likely do ~1800 watts at 1 with a good electrical. 900 to each would be enough for a loud DD.

thanks a lot for the input, i built the box for them based on the 1.8 info that was recommended by someone who worked with them extensively so that is good news, I just got a scare when I read the manual and it said 1-1.2 cubes each. I have been doing some looking at sundown, everyone seems to say good things but how would I wire a 1 ohm load for 2 SVC 4 ohm subs? I thought it was either 2 or 8 ohms for a 1 channel wire up? I am planning on a kicker pkd 1/0 kit which I have heard is amazing wiring

anyone have any other suggestions ?

cheapest I found one of those for is 384 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif and I don't really have that much scratch, is there a way I can get 1500 true and clean watts for cheaper?
