It is sold by gallons nonetheless. It is also meant as a gallon of gas uncompressed volume. You saying it can't be measured by gallons is just plain wrong. You can do the same with liquids by using weight to determine volume. Keep backpeddling all you want, fact is your statement was and still is wrong.

Actually its meant as a gallon of liquid. Propane is sold to consumers as liquid/gaseous form. You were right at first but now you just seem to be making shit up.
