Perks of work

Build logs are just that. A short description of what they're doing, if no one can figure it out by pics, and how/what is going on. It's entirely up to that person to provide 100's of pics of small details of what they're doing...and requires some time to do. It's not an overnight thing. I got a build log here Boomintahoe's system (in the works) - Car Audio Classifieds No I didn't post a pic of connecting wire to wire and sounds like that's what your wanting to see. Every installer, professional or hobbyist, same thing in my book, should know the very basics installation.

I've been into this since the 90's. I thought I seen/heard everything. I'm still amazed at some people's mindsets and also a pic or 2 of something I've never seen before.

What was in before when I bought the truck...some really cheap Panasonic HU...

Dunno how much more proof I need to provide to show that a "professional" which I don't claim to be but I know wtf I'm doing when it comes to installing car audio. It simply doesn't show if a pro did it or someone like me did it.

professional just means you get paid to do something.

you know what would be different with your install If a "professional" installed it? nothing

I love people who think like you do. It's great job security for me.

Think what you want man. Have I had cars come back? sure. Was the reason they came back because something related to the install went wrong? Nope. Equipment fails or a customer messing with settings? all the time.

I don't have a problem with a person working as an installer, I would never have a need for one. But to proclaim hobbyist couldn't do your job is insane. most people on this forum could do it easily. some just choose more lucrative opportunities.

Uh no. You should be worried because I've seen installs better than what "professionals" could have done. Car audio turned "professional", pretty much the same thing, only getting paid for it. However, there are some people that are in this hobby that do get paid for installations/builds that do get paid as a side job.

Not worried. 40% of the stuff I do is fix installs that have gone wrong because someone said they knew how to do it or their buddy has been doing it forever so they are gonna have them do it and then they come in when it's all messed up. You have seen installs better than what professionals could of done. Thats funny. What professional installs are you comparing them to? I'm not sure if you have had a bad experience with an installer or simply haven't seen an install done by a MECP certified installer that cares about their work. I'm done arguing with you tho. There is no changing your mind. Your better at doing something than someone who does it for a living.

I'm talking about installs that are far better/superior than done by a professional installer. Someone who did it unpaid rather than someone who did it paid. I dunno how to make it any clearer for you. You don't need to be MECP certified to do an install....lol. You need to get that thru your head.

I'd rather do this as a hobby than a living. Most shops are all about overcharging and very fast paced. Otherwise, they don't make a profit. Good/excellent installs take time to do, and do it right the 1st time.
