I am going with 4-12s in a single cab minitruck. I am cutting the front of the bed, and back of the cab to have what most people call a "blow thru". I am going to go with the sealed enclosure route. Mainly the reason I want to go with 4-12s is because I can stand them and face them forward without having to worry about the height. As far as 15s, they are a bit too tall, and the face of the box would have to be slanted. Which I do not want. So, 12s it is. I was going to get HCCA 12s, the price I was quoted went up $400, so I am changing my mind, and most likely just gonna order online. So far, I have a few subs in mind, some people say are not designed for sealed enclosures. So..my question is this...which ones are best in sealed, or do really well in sealed?

So far, my options have been this....

Kicker CVX 12

RE SX12

Orion HCCA 12

Soundstream T5 12

I know the CVX will do well, what about the rest? Any other options good for a sealed box?

loose the soundstream, it has to go ported, ebp close to 100...

SX's reportedly **** sealed as well. The specs on the new HCCA's imply they will do best sealed (go figure) iirc.

I have to ask, if you are going through all the trouble to do a blow-thru, why must you go sealed? Seems like alot of work to get about the same output as a pair of ported 12's.

Just personal preference. I know ported is capable of being much louder, and brings the effeciency waaay up....

you cant tell me 4 good 12s, in the correct size box, with the right power from a good amp will not sound good in a single cab minitruck
