Performance Car Bargain

eh, i get bout 30 on the hiway in mine (97 gtp) as far as handling.. its not fair for me to judge that really (all i have to compare it to is big suv's and such) but it doesnt seem to bad:)
Well I'll be doing alot of back road driving where handling will be key.... I do like the GTP's... and I even like the looks of the regal and would appreciate the room and comfort but something like a prelude would handle better and it wouldn't be fi...

^^ ditch the ricer lights and this would be nice ^^

I dunno... it's going to be a tough choice... I do have a serious boner for the VQ35 but it's still just out of my reach...

Also, if you can find one, look for a 1991-1994 Nissan Sentra SE-R. Has the SR20 motor (no turbo, but definitely an easy engine to upgrade), and has an autocross-minded suspension.

And you can get the full SR20DET turbo engine online for under $3k with ****** and ECU. One of my favorite tuner cars

I'm not really into doing engine swaps for my daily driver for now...

You wouldn't need to. It's already a decently quick car with great handling. But if you wanted to boost performance later on, you could get a nice low-mileage engine/******/ecu package for less than what it would cost for a good trubo kit.

If you can find an affordable one in good shape, I would jump on it. They are pretty rare though. I saw one a while back on ebay for under $5 that had been upgraded a lot and was pushing 400hp. Would be driving it right now if I'd had the money

I've looked at SE-R's before but I think they are too small for my current tastes... That goes for some I've already said yes too but for similar money I can get a nicer interior and such...

I will say I'm a big nissan/infiniti fan though... the se-r just isn't the right fit for now...

Like this one. Me likey.

I like those, but I really don't think the newer SE-Rs are as performance eminded as the old ones. The 91-94s are very unassuming little coupes and have a lot of potential.
I do get your point though. The original SE-Rs were definitely more performance-minded than comfort-minded
yah, I'm 6'1" 290lbs so larger cars get preference
