Performance Car Bargain

lol, your a retard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif every car mentioned you dont like because some kid could have had it before hand or you dont like the way it looks or the interior isnt like you want it to be. go get a prius ya fruitcake, not much play room with 5k..

handling is more important than 1/4mile times
94-01 Integra gsr..for ~$5k, youre not going to find a better platform unless you want to deal with broken timing belts and leaking transfer cases (dsm)...

If you dont like them simply because it's a honda, go drive one.

an integra will be cheaper and has far more options and parts available..

he said he didnt want to turbo a non-turbo car though..the gsr has close to 200hp, handles VERY well, and is incredibly reliable..

if you dont mind messing with the internals or would plan on doing it in the future you could find an rs, ls, or gs model (b18b) for much cheaper and build the motor up w/ a vtec head and get the large amount of displacement and the variable timing (ls-vtec)..

I like the grand prix gt/gtp idea.
i like the GXP's.. those are baaaaaad assss

i love my integra... before i put all the wight in it it was really quick....

and it handles like a champ!

those cars are popular with hacks including myself too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
what about a VW?
I find them ugly and I have heard build quality on some models is sub-par... but I'd be open to a GTI...

The MX6 is eh, 160 at crank is less inspiring than I'm looking for though mazda generally puts together a nice chassis.

Terranova, go find another thread...

Mitsubishi Starion/Plymouth Conquest .... I'll look into them

Toyota MR2 - too small

older Supra - RWD... I'm going to be snow driving and need to be able to get to work every day

I like honda/acura. Anything civic based is too small though. A newish V6 accord/legend/etc would fit the bill just fine though... aren't they around 200hp? A prelude is a possibility too...

GTP/GXP is an option for sure

Rotary scares me....

This is 6k but a nice deal:

Looking at accord v6 pricing...

um, a prelude is definately smaller than an integra..

a legend..well, they dont handle at all..I had a 91 for about 4 years (the c32 type I (91-93) has right around 200hp and the type II (94-95) have 215-220 iirc)..If you plan on modding it AT ALL (which is limited to an intake, exhaust, tb spacer, and other minor bs) the transmission will not handle it..i had my transmission rebuilt 6x in a 2 year period..On a 100 shot it broke into the 14's though..They were made with 6-speeds, but theyre ****ed near impossible to find...I do miss that car though.

v6 accords only came in an auto

as far as a gtp/gtx...i would not buy any force inducted domestic car w/ over 60k...my x-g/f worked at a pontiac/gmc dealer for years and they always saw more s/c bonnies and gp's than any other car..always with the chocolate milk-shake on the underside of the oil cap (blown hg)

rotary motors are awesome, but finding the newest model rx7 for anywhere near 5k is not going to happen..and the older models are ugly as hell imo

hmmm maybe I need to ride in an integra again, it's been awhile. I remember the prelude having plenty or driver room. And if the legend isn't a handler and doesn't have an aftermarket then it's to be ignored...

I will probably own a BMW 325ix for the wife after buying this car but she'll get more $$$ to play with....

I can make due with an auto if it's snappy enough...
