JBL 600.1 or US Acoustics 800 mono amp. There both 600 rms but the US Acoustics is rated at a lower input voltage so in a sense it will have more power then the JBl. It also is better quality so if you have the extra money get the US. ITs cheapest on thezeb.com
although i havent used a 600.1 i do have a 1200.1, and they are almost the same except for wattage of course. I highly recomend the for a "baller on a budget".
When using a ported enclosure you should have a subsonic filter to filter those really low frequencies, it actually can be safer for the subs. From waht i hear it also helps get rid of the whining noise of ported boxes.
so the 1200.1 doesnt have one? ide swear i have one, maybe im thinking about the HPF or something. ill have to check. But say i dont, is it not safe to go ported? That would piss me off....
you could try a profile CA1200 or CL1200. They are 600watts@4ohms, 300x2. those will give you good bang for the buck...pick em up for around 200-220 dependin on where you shop
A subsonic filter is a high-pass filter, but just for very low frequencies. And you can always get the 1200.1 and pick up an FMOD for whatever freq. you want if you use a ported box.....bad things will happen if you don't. The port will lose control of the sub at frequencies below what it is tuned to...
