people using fl studio..your recommendation, fast?

Now I have been playing with fl studio for a few months and overtime come accustomed to using the mouse as the "keyboard" well im ready to step it up to something a little better(midi controller/keyboard) This is going to be an x-mas gift and ENTRY LEVEL. I dont want anything expensive at all since im learning.. now if it came down to you which one would seem more better for the price.. i dont need a bunch of **** on it.. just something simple for the price... Thanks

cheaper for me is obv. better if the keyrig compares close enough to the xboard Em-u than please recommend it..

Thanks everyone!!

EDIT - in FL studio

go under your settings - and look for midi.

pull down the list of controllers they have.

coppy it down - and search them out.

they should integrate with fl studio. its a good thing. trust me as:

I have the axiom 25.

looks alot like your first link,

but mine has 8 drum pads on it.

sucky part is = fruity loops does not recognize this keyboard

so it is not programable functions. all it is is a keyboard to play notes on.

- now if using reason program - the axiom midi controller is fully integrated with that system

and is verry capable of doing all kinds of crap I havent learned about yet.

im a newb at FL. so i definately dont want reason.

FL is generaly the eaziest to use program.

good luck with it bro.

its alot of fun.

I havent read the thread yet [sorry.] But id like to throw out that ive got a MPD16 for sale. However, It isnt compatable with windows Vista.

Ill x2 the suggestion of the Axiom. I had one of those as well, However sold it already. The axiom 25 can be had for around $125 online. Ill dig up pics of my studio in a sec.

I am running Reason 3.0, FL studio 6, Battery 2, And a few other VSTi's

Hardware was Axiom 25, MPD16, Casio w3k, Senheiser 280hd's, Emu-0404, Mackie 1202vlz Pro. I also had an M-audio USB interface for the laptop, to travel. But i downgraded quiet a bit since. Still have the 280's, Casio controller, And MPD16.

nice thanks man.. want something that i can start easy on..how hard is it to use in fl studio? like as stated does it just play notes then u got to incorporate an instrument to it or what?

i mean im watching people on youtube use these with fl studio and it plays just fine

Its a 16 pad midi controller, Similar to an MPC. I use it in Battery2, And make my own sound banks. However i have since upgraded both computers to Vista, And its not compatable as of yet.

As far as how simple? Its as easy as finding sounds you want, And tapping them out as you would with your fingers on the desk. If you learn your Play, Stop, And rec commands on the computer keyboard, It'll make banging out beats easy. (I suggest using the number pad to change pattern's as well.)

Also, Axiom 49's nice. I got the 25, Because i was traveling around state to state, And had a "Travel" studio. I suggest looking around, Im sure it can be had for cheaper.

You can FULLY map the controls from the axiom out into FL studio. I had EVERYTHING down to the knob's, and Play, stop and Record mapped out on my laptop. Most of the controllers they list are outdated IMHO. Theres much more out there these days.

The first set-up seems dope. But, changing from C5 to C6 would probably be a pain. Seeing how I never play in only one range, I'd find that annoying. But the knobs on top seem interesting.

I have my eye on the 82 key version of the second keyboard you posted. It's $200 bucks, though.

What did you end up getting? My buddy has an Axiom 25 and uses Reason 3.0, you can make some pretty nice stuff with that combo.
never got anything.. i will be getting one soon as i got back into fl...going for the m-audio oxygen 61 to start off with
